phpRoster is a server-side web application that enables members to enter their own personal data and an image and to view personal data and images of other members.
phpRoster runs on a web server with support for the PHP scripting language and the MySQL database server. It uses ImageMagick to resize images.
The site administrator can configure phpRoster to allow self registration and data entry (the default) or can screen requests for member accounts and allow use of the site only upon approval. The administrator can also configure email notification on events like new account creation and data entry.
phpRoster is written by Dick Hodgman in PHP and is licensed under the GNU General Public License. It incorporates an email address obfiscation object Mailto Encoder written by Konstantinos Dafalias and listed at PHP Classes. The user authentication and session management portion of phpRoster was inspired in part by AdminPro class, written by Giorgos Tsiledakis and found at PHP Classes and at Freshmeat.
phpRoster was developed on a Pentium 4 1.4 gHz Dell 8100 running Red Hat 9 Kernel 2.4.20-2.41, Apache/2.0.40 (Red Hat Linux), PHP 4.2.2, and MySQL 3.23.58.
phpRoster has been ported to DreamHost, where it runs under Linux Kernel 2.4.32, PHP 5.2.3, and MySQL 5.0.24a.Try a demo of phpRoster.
